Presentation

The GenoPIM project aims to exploit emerging processing-in-memory (PiM) technologies to accelerate genomic processing while reducing energy consumption.

The first objective is to parallelize algorithms commonly used in genomics and bioinformatics, in order to evaluate their performance (acceleration, energy consumption) on a PiM architecture.

A second objective is to develop a programming environment, in the form of a C++ library, to facilitate code production.

Implementations and evaluations are carried out on a UPMEM server equipped with 160 GB of PiM memory.
